      • Following the funeral, as the family filed out of the chapel, the brothers walked together, along with the Duchess of Cambridge, and were seen chatting as they did so. The decision for Harry and William to walk separately in the procession prompted speculation that they could not be reconciled.

An expert carriage driver, Prince Philip's beloved Fell ponies, Balmoral Nevis and Notlaw Storm, stood in the quadrangle during the funeral procession. The duke took up carriage driving at the age of 50 and continued to be involved in the sport well into his 90s. His cap and whip rested on an empty seat of the cab as it entered Windsor Castle.

The duke's coffin was carried in a customised, dark green Land Rover, in accordance with his long-held wishes. He started collaborating on the project with Land Rover 18 years ago with its open-top rear section custom made to his specification. The vehicle led the funeral procession from Windsor Castle to St George's Chapel.

All four of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II's children walked behind their father's coffin as it was driven to the chapel. Prince Charles, 72, Princess Anne, 70, Prince Andrew, 61, and Prince Edward, 57, were among the 30 guests permitted to attend the ceremony, which was modified due to coronavirus restrictions. It was a rare public appearanc...

More than 700 military personnel took part in the ceremony, including army bands, Royal Marine buglers and an honour guard drawn from the armed forces.

Inside St George's Chapel, the guests wore black face masks and were seated in family groups to follow strict social distancing rules. The Queen sat alone at the front of the chapel near the coffin. Opposite her in the pews were Prince Charles, heir to the throne, and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Also in the front row were Prince Will...
