Shadowland felt like a really stark departure from that. I liked it for the most part, and honestly really enjoyed the street level team up at the end. But it's just SO different from a lot of what makes people like Daredevil.
When Bullseye destroyed a city block and killed 107 people in the process, Daredevil was pushed over the edge... and killed Bullseye. On that city block, Daredevil built his fortress of Shadowland. As Daredevil's power grew, he became colder and brutal. Several heroes tried to intervene, only to find themselves under attack by the Hand.
