Dharamvir Bharati was born on 25th December, 1926 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He lost his father at a young age that left a vacuum in his life and also financial difficulties for the family. In these difficult times he managed to continue his education and received Master of Arts in Hindi from Allahabad University in 1946.
