Like the bombing of Dresden or the great flood of Hamburg, the sinking of the Pamir gives the background for a 3 hour German TV production. The usual love story, the usual bad guy, the usual heroes. The plot is not historically correct, more fiction than facts. The sinking of the Pamir was a real event, 80 sailors died.
