    In order to calculate the occupant load within an area of a building correctly, the code establishes two methods: (1) Areas without Fixed Seating – (Section 1004.1.2) (2) Areas with Fixed Seating – (Section 1004.4) Let us take a look at how the occupant load is calculated using each method.
