  2. Jun 1, 2023 · This paper presents a scoping review on accident causation analysis and the applied theoretical basis, data types used, cases analysed, and level of human intervention required. A discussion of relevant findings and limitations of papers reviewed is offered.

  3. Dec 9, 2020 · This study explores the vehicle derailment mechanisms in train-to-train collision accidents. The numerical model of a train-track dynamics system is developed and validated. Vehicle behaviors under a 60 km/h impact indicate that the wheelset has the potential for climbing derailment.

  4. In addition, new countermeasures had been suggested after the Fukuchiyama-Line derailment killed 107 people and injured 562 in 2005. We will explain this in view of the law of Japan and changes in risk. And, we report about changes in safety after taking these countermeasures.

  5. Aug 1, 2021 · Abstract. This paper presents an analysis of fatal train accident rates and trends on Europe’s main line railways from 1990–2019. It is a sequel to the paper Fatal train accidents on Europe’s railways: 1980–2009 (Evans (2011), which covers the three decades 1980–2009.

  6. Jan 1, 2011 · This paper analyzes several critical parameters for predicting train derailment risk by using derailment statistics from the FRA accident database and related literature. A general method was developed to assess derailment risk by accident cause and FRA track class.
