(a) This Subchapter, consisting of four Articles, governs permanent amusement rides operated anywhere in the State of California. Article 3 applies only to aquatic devices, while Articles 1, 2, and 4 apply to all permanent amusement rides, including aquatic devices.
(a) “Permanent amusement ride” means a mechanical device, aquatic device, or combination of devices, of a permanent nature that carries or conveys passengers along, around, or over a fixed or restricted route or course for the purpose of giving its passengers amusement, pleasure, thrills, or excitement.
