"Job" is the seventh and penultimate episode of the Apple TV+ limited series, Defending Jacob.

During a flashback, Andy Barber prepares Neal Loguidice for his first murder trial.

In the present day, the opening statements for Jacob's trial are underway. After this, Andy notices James O'Leary waiting outside, who is believed to be an old gangster. That night, Jacob rekindles his friendship with Sarah Grohl, who sympathized with Jacob.

As the trial continues, Neal's theatrics lead to objections against him sustained. This leads to Dan Rifkin believing it would lead to Jacob getting away. Neal's recklessness continues as he mentions William Barber, after being ordered not to.

While the Barber's believe the trial is going their way, Derek Yoo is called to the stand. There, he mentions Jacob posting stories on a violent pornographic site under the pseudonym "Job", which tells a story that would match that of Ben Rifkin's murder. This leads to Andy and Laurie beginning to doubt Jacob's innocence.

As Matthew McGrath was missing and believed to be hiding out in Florida, they decide to go straight to Leonard Patz, as well as bring Sarah to the stand. Though Jacob refused, he's told he no longer has a say in his case due to what transpired. Jacob walks off and tries to contact Sarah, who ignores his messages while reading his story.

Andy still has hopes Jacob is innocent but Laurie insists Jacob is capable of such deception, which he likely learned from the two of them.
