I think the remastered GOW III is probably the best version of the old GOW games in terms of gameplay. There were two PSP GOW games in between GOW 2 and 3 that introduced new mechanics like a running or charge mechanic, I forget exactly, and a couple other things that were present in GOW III.
Gow 3 remastered vs GOW. I got to say, I’m not too stoked about the latest iteration of the game. I can see that a change was needed from the previous concept, but I joined the party pretty late with the remaster being my first gameplay in the GOW series.
So after beating the new game I went back and put in GoW3 remastered. Man, totally different games. Different button mapping, camera, etc etc. I didn’t expect it to feel so off. And I didn’t really realize the big difference in graphics until looking at 3 again.
