Can I purchase tickets at the museum?
Timed tickets are encouraged for entry. Purchase yours onlinein advance of your visit. All visitors must proceed through a security checkpoint, which includes being wanded with a magnetometer. Once inside, members and advance-ticket buyers may proceed directly into the museum galleries after having their tickets scanned.
Do I have to wait in line if I have a pre-purchased timed ticket?
All visitors entering the museum must proceed through a security checkpoint, which includes being wanded with a magnetometer. At peak times, there may be a line for the security checkpoint. Once inside, members and advance-ticket buyers do not have to wait in any additional ticketing lines and may proceed directly into the museum galleries after having their tickets scanned.
Is there a time limit for visits?
You are welcome to stay in the museum as long as you like, up until the museum closes.
What if I am not feeling well?
Please stay home if you are sick and if you test positive for or have been exposed to COVID-19, please follow the CDC’s guidanceon isolation, quarantine, and masking. COVID-19 symptoms include cough, fever or chills, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, stomach upset, muscle or body aches, headaches, and fatigue.
Is it safe to visit the museum?
The Guggenheim cares about your health and safety, however COVID-19 is very contagious and there is an inherent risk of exposure in any public environment. Those visiting the museum do so at their own risk of exposure.
Do I need to wear a mask while visiting the museum?
Mask wearing and COVID-19 vaccination are no longer required but are strongly recommended.
Can I check my coat or baggage?
The coat check is located on the ground floor and is free with admission. You must present your admission ticket prior to checking any items. Items larger than 22 in x 14 in x 9 inches (including baggage handles and wheels) are not permitted in the museum and cannot be checked. Backpacks, long umbrellas, musical instruments, scooters, skateboards, and packages smaller than 22in x 14in x 9 inches are not permitted in the galleries and must be checked. Is there a place to eat at the museum?
Café Rebay (open Monday–Friday, 11 am–4 pm, and Saturday–Sunday, 11 am–5 pm) serves pastries and chocolates, fresh sandwiches and salads, as well as Lavazza coffee, tea, wine, and beer. The Wright restaurant is temporarily closed; outside food and drink are not permitted, except personal water bottles.
