Thomas David Briggs CVO MBE KStJ (born 25 August 1946, Huddersfield, West Riding of Yorkshire) is a British businessman based in Cheshire, England. He served as the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire until August 2021.
Submitted by Colin Russell BaA 1954-61 in collaboration with David Briggs. Philip was born in Boston, Lincolnshire on January 22 nd 1921, however his father, Lionel died when he was only one and a half and his mother, Hilda moved to Wilmslow, Cheshire to live with her parents.
Feb 23, 2010 · A MOBBERLEY man is the new Lord Lieutenant for Cheshire. The Queen has appointed David Briggs, making him Her Majesty’s representative in the county. He takes over the post on Sunday, March 7, following the retirement of Sir William Bromley Davenport who has held the position for almost 20 years.
