Feb 23, 2010 · A MOBBERLEY man is the new Lord Lieutenant for Cheshire. The Queen has appointed David Briggs, making him Her Majesty’s representative in the county. He takes over the post on Sunday, March 7, following the retirement of Sir William Bromley Davenport who has held the position for almost 20 years.
