However, half their number rebelled following the Horus Heresy, and they ruthlessly hunt these "Fallen Angels" while keeping the Fallen's existence secret.

I just don't understand what it is about the Dark Angels that's particularly interesting? Their 30K and 40K lore hangs on being all secretive and mysterious but this is always laid on so heavily that it seems more frustrating and self-absorbed than intriguing.
