He was the youngest player in the National League when he broke into the majors in 1960.
Murphy was an MLB All-Star in 2014, 2016, and 2017. En route to leading the New York Mets to their fifth World Series appearance in franchise history, he won the National League Championship Series MVP Award in 2015, setting a record for consecutive postseason games with a home run with six.
