Out-of-town patients were examined pre and postoperatively in their hotel rooms. He far preferred to operate at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, but on occasion would perform surgery in a Baltimore home for an added fee.

   • Dr. Halsted has operated on both of my hands for trapezial arthroplasty. Both hands are back to 100% use. Both operations had little or no pain, and recovery was shortened due to the expert work he and his staff did on me. If I have to have any other surgery on my hands, I hope that Dr. Halsted is still practicing.
