Criss Cross Raise - Also known as the Criss Cross Jump Shift or Crossover, a convention to address minor suit openings when responder has a invitation values (some play game forcing) and no 4 card major.
Feb 26, 2020 · criss-cross inverted raises is designed to distinguish game forcing raises of minor suits from raises that are only invitational. (The double raise is still weak and preemptive in either case, but according to Bridge World Standard 2017, shows some values, i.e. enough to have a shot at 3NT if partner has 18-19 balanced.)

Nov 24, 2017 · When not vulnerable, sometimes when responder has a singleton or void (unsuitable to respond 1NT) and good trump support, he may have to decide whether to make a slight overbid with an invitational raise (Criss-Cross) or a slight underbid with a preemptive jump raise.
Alternately, mikeh's scheme using criss cross allows you to retain the simple single raise as normal which can be useful in fighting for part scores, or making sure (esp important at IMP) that you play and make 2 or 3 m rather than being off 1 in 1NT.

Oct 30, 2013 · Jump raises are weak (and. alerted) and preemptive (five-nine HCP) with no four card major and five+ card support for the minor bid suit, and single raises show ten+ HCP (with no upper limit), with no four card major. The bid is forcing for one round (and alerted), if made by an unpassed responder.
