Courcouronnes (French pronunciation: [kuʁkuʁɔn] ⓘ) is a former commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the new commune Évry-Courcouronnes. [2] It is located 26.4 km (16.4 mi) from the centre of Paris, in the "new town" of Évry Ville Nouvelle, created in the 1960s.
The largest new municipality in the Île-de-France, Evry-Courcouronnes was formed in 2019 after the merge of the Évry and Courcouronnes communes. The city is regarded as a cradle of biotechnology due to the fact that the research centres of Genople as well as AFM-Téléthon can be found in the city.
