  2. I came here to suggest Fabric of the Cosmos to people who have a difficult time understanding things like spacetime. "Fabric" explains things better than any other series I have ever seen.

    For years now, Seth MacFarlane has been a powerhouse at FOX, and it probably comes as no surprise that the Family Guy creator has developed yet another show at the network. But instead of an umpteenth animated comedy, MacFarlane has set his sights on the stars with a reboot of Carl Sagan's acclaimed documentary miniseries Cosmos: A Personal Voyage -- only this time it's called Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey, and it's hosted by the one and only Neil deGrasse Tyson (aka, the astrophysicist who made science cool again).

    The series premiere is broken up into three basic segments and begins with Tyson boarding the "Spaceship of Imagination," as he takes us on a tour of the universe to explain each line of our "cosmic address" -- starting with Earth (the first line) and working his way up through the Solar System, the Milky Way, the Local Cluster and so on. Starting out, Tyson doesn't delve much deeper than your average middle school astronomy textbook, but there's still a certain charm to his straightforward prose, using simple analogies to describe our massive universe.
