Thomas M. Cooley High School is an abandoned high school located at the intersection of Hubbell Avenue and Chalfonte Street, on the northwest side of Detroit, Michigan. The three-story, Mediterranean Revival-style facility opened its doors on September 4, 1928.
Cooley High is a 1975 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film that follows the narrative of high school seniors and best friends, Leroy "Preach" Jackson (Glynn Turman) and Richard "Cochise" Morris (Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs).

Apr 26, 2021 · One of the city’s most architecturally attractive high schools, Motown’s Cooley was built in 1928 by the Detroit firm of Donaldson and Meier, responsible for such landmarks as The David Stott Building, St. Aloysius and Most Holy Redeemer churches, and the first section of the Penobscot Building.
