The Italian Job was the name of the fifteenth Clarkson home video release, as part of a series which would be released yearly through to 2011. It was filmed around the same time that Series 16 of Top Gear was being filmed, though came out a full month before the season premiered on BBC 2.
For the final two solo releases, Clarkson turned his typical format into more of a generalized automotive DVD, this time around celebrating the triumph of the Italian automobile industry.
