Officer Dante Torres is a member of the CPD Intelligence Unit. Formerly on loan from the Bureau of Patrol, he was temporarily taken under the wing of Detective Jay Halstead prior to working full-time with Intelligence. Though a diligent policeman, his quiet and rebellious nature hides a troubling past. Torres is portrayed by Benjamin Levy Aguilar.
Dante Torres grew up in a community neighborhood raised by his mother, Catalina. His stepfather, Berto, would beat her on numerous occasions, and though Torres, then 14, called the police six times, nothing was done about it. Frustrated, he would eventually beat his stepfather into a coma, resulting in him serving time in juvenile detention.
At one point, he worked as a gang enforcer for Juan Ariza, a local shot caller and drug dealer. Wanting a way out, he faked the death of a hit target and was tortured as a result.

•His personal vehicle is a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice. On duty, he has used a Pontiac Grand Prix since "New Life."
•His actor, Benjamin Levy Aguilar, has appeared previously in Doubt as Franco Chavaro.
