Nov 29, 2021 · Guevara was a descendent of Galway native, Patrick Lynch, born in 1715, and who in the aftermath of land confiscations in Ireland was said to have made his way to Buenos Aires in 1749 via Bilbao. Guevara’s Irish roots are these days arguably well-known and his Irish heritage is now an accepted fact. However, it has not always been the case.
