In a city filled with factories pumping out automobiles, Cass Tech High School was a factory of learning, where students were taught to use their hands, as well as their heads. More than 50,000 students graduated from it, and hundreds of thousands of others walked its halls.

Website. www.detroitk12.org /casstech. Cass Technical High School (simply referred to as Cass Tech) is a magnet high school in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, United States. [3] It was established in 1907 and is part of the Detroit Public Schools Community District. It is named after Lewis Cass.
The first high school in the City of Detroit was established in a new building on Miami Street (Broadway) in 1859, on a site used by the Detroit Board of Education. In 1863, the high school was relocated to the second story of the Capitol Building, where a Union school was maintained.
