    • Cinderella (2015) Good Character Traits: Kindness, Compassion, Courage. Based on the original story and put out by Disney, you know it’s going to be good.
    • Frozen (2013) Good Character Traits: Kindness, Sibling Love. What is lovable about this story is that it is not a traditional “man saves the day” movie (not that there is anything wrong with that).
    • Grace Unplugged (2013) Good Character Traits: Kindness, Love, Self-Worth. A young girl goes against her parent’s belief system and runs away to become a famous songwriter/singer.
    • Brave (2012) Good Character Traits: Self-Love, Bravery, Grit. A rebellious little girl who is betrothed to a prince wants to be anything but a “princess”.

We put together a list of great movies and videos with characters who demonstrate a growth mindset and qualities such as grit, perseverance, courage, and determination.

    • The Rookie. Rated G. In The Rookie, a high school teacher named Jim Morris (played by Dennis Quaid) gets a second chance at his dream of becoming a professional baseball player.
    • Toy Story. Rated G. Woody, a wooden cowboy doll who is owned by a young boy named Andy, feels his position as the favorite toy being jeopardized when his parents give him a Buzz Lightyear action figure.
    • Charlotte's Web (2006) Rated G. Wilbur the pig is dreading the end of the season because he knows he will be served for supper once it arrives. To prevent this from happening, Charlotte hatches a brilliant plan to let everyone know what a special pig Wilbur is.
    • Cars. Rated G. In the movie Cars, a young racecar named Lightning McQueen is trying to win the Piston Cup Championship. He gets lost on his way to the championship race and ends up in a small town called Radiator Springs.
