View Images. A little over a year ago, Stacey Baker posted her first photo of women's legs on Instagram. Now, 500+ photos into the series, she has more than 22,000 fans and followers. LensCulture editor Jim Casper got in touch with her via Skype to talk about the Citilegs project. Here's an edited version of the conversation:
New York Legs isn’t the name of a strip joint, it’s the name of a coffee table book that’s being published next month. And it features hundreds of women’s legs from around NYC.
The book has a great, short introduction written by Kathy Ryan, the famed director of photography at The New York Times Magazine. I loved this series from the moment I first saw it a couple years ago, and it continues to delight and amaze me and make me smile whenever I check the latest on my iPhone (all the photos were made with an iPhone, too).

The woman was standing in the Waldorf Astoria lobby, and her legs, lean beneath a spring coat, struck Baker as enviably dainty. Days later, she photographed a pair in Central Park. Soon her Instagram feed was devoted entirely to legs.
