Cecily Neville (3 May 1415 – 31 May 1495) was an English noblewoman, the wife of Richard, Duke of York (1411–1460), and the mother of two kings of England—Edward IV and Richard III. Cecily Neville was known as "the Rose of Raby", because she was born at Raby Castle in Durham , and "Proud Cis", because of her pride and a temper that went with it, although she was also known for her piety .

Cecily Neville was an important figure in England's Wars of the Roses. She and her husband, Richard, 3rd duke of York, founded the House of York, and helped two of their sons become kings.
Cecily of York (20 March 1469 – 24 August 1507), also known as Cecelia, [2] was the third daughter of King Edward IV of England and his queen consort Elizabeth Woodville. Shortly after the death of her father and the usurpation of the throne by her uncle King Richard III, Cecily and her siblings were declared illegitimate.
