Henry's widow Catherine de Valois (1401-1437) married Owen Tudor, a Welsh squire, and one of her three sons, Edmund, Earl of Richmond was the father of the future Henry VII. Her funeral took place on 10th February 1437. Solemn vespers for the dead were sung on the eve of the funeral.
The last effigy known to have been carried at an Abbey funeral is that of Catherine, Duchess of Buckingham who died in 1743. Her son Robert Sheffield, Marquess of Normanby is the only effigy of a child in the collection.

Following the death of Henry and Charles VI, Henry VI, at nine-months-old, became the joint heir of France and England, and Catherine was only twenty-one. Catherine accompanied Henry V’s body back to England for burial, and the funeral was held on 7th November.
