  2. Oct 4, 2024 · By Nathan Johnson Posted: October 04, 2024. Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T (the two longest-running actors on a primetime TV series) return to lead the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) cast as SVU Captain Olivia Benson and Sergeant Odafin Tutuola, respectively. 2024 already saw the return of the fan-favorite characters with the release of ...

    • Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson) Mariska Hargitay’s Captain Olivia Benson has always been at the center of Law & Order: SVU, and after Christopher Meloni left the show, she became the de facto main character in a stacked ensemble cast.
    • Christopher Meloni (Elliot Stabler) While Law & Order: SVU has an impressive ensemble cast, Christopher Meloni’s character Elliot Stabler — and his relationship with Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson — arguably formed the heart and soul of the show.
    • Ice-T (Fin Tutuola) Tracy Lauren Marrow, a.k.a. Ice-T, remains one of the most consistently appealing parts of Law & Order: SVU. His Sergeant Fin Tutuola is tough and no-nonsense, possessing street smarts that many of his colleagues lack, which often helps him crack cases that others can’t.
    • Kelli Giddish (Amanda Rollins) Given how much New York life is at the heart of Law & Order: SVU, it’s always interesting to see Kelli Giddish’s Amanda Rollins onscreen.
  3. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" Class (TV Episode 2006) cast and crew credits, including actors, actresses, directors, writers and more.

    [about Esther]
Rollins: I can tell she's smart by the biblical connections she's making.
Benson: But it's like it was drilled into her.
Rollins: Oh, yeah, this goes way past the Sunday school indoctrination my mom made me sit through. This is a form of control. It's a way to discourage analytical thinking.
Benson: Or a place to turn if she's lost or in pain.
Rollins: Or scare you into thinking you're gonna burn in hell if you... you wear a skirt above your knee. I mean, somebody's doing this to keep her in line and she's still protecting them.
The Book of Esther is a Hebrew text that later became part of the Christian Septuagint.
As of this episode, Odafin Tutuola is promoted to Sergeant. However, on multiple occasions following, he is referred to as a detective, mostly due to the changing of showrunners from seasons 19 to 20.
