Dec 15, 2015 · When Carrie returns home after her prom meltdown, the script had called for the house (designed by Spacek's husband) to be destroyed by a volley of rocks. In the end, however, Auer's machine for hurling the rocks lacked the power to collapse the house.
Perhaps after getting over the initial shock they would have all laughed at Carrie even if the bucket did not hit Tommy. But the timing does make it seem like many were laughing at him getting knocked on the head, and not her being soaked. This interpretation would make the ending even more tragic.
I'd be so happy to find out that the author of this novel was trying to portray an autistic character because I personally think that they did a great job. She wasn't portrayed as a stereotype that you often see in movies about autism, it was real and relateable. I'd love to know what you think!
Apr 13, 2017 · You find a bit of yourself in Pilby because Powley is able to find what makes her relatable and convey it through performance alone. The talent supporting hero is equally good, especially Nathan Lane and William Moseley, but this is the Powley show from beginning to end.
