Arthur Carlton Cuse (born March 22, 1959) is an American screenwriter, showrunner, producer, and director, best known for the American television series Lost, for which he made the Time list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2010. Early life and education.
He started his career in television as a writer on the Michael Mann series, Crime Story (1986), and then as co-creator and executive producer of the critically-acclaimed Fox series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (1993).

Bob Greenblat, an executive at the then relatively new Fox television network, approached the writing team with the idea of doing an old-fashioned serial. Cuse was looking to make his mark in television and leapt at the opportunity.
