Well, you can still adopt a baby monkey without all the hassle mentioned above. There are plenty of great organizations that allow you to adopt a monkey at a sanctuary. This way you can still have your pet monkey but they will remain in a sanctuary where they are cared for in the appropriate way and won’t have to suffer.

Adoptions can be renewed online here by clicking on the “Renew an Adoption” button. You will need the adoptive parent surname, adoptive membership card number and adoptive parent postcode to allow you to renew. You can then amend which address the adoption pack, Ape Rescue Chronicles and the renewal letter are delivered to.

Feb 1, 2024 · As of yesterday (31 January), keeping a pet monkey at home will soon become illegal in England unless you meet specific standards. New rules will be introduced in 2026 including stricter licensing on who can keep primates.
Adopt Coco and Kiki. Kiki was born in 2016, and was sold at a very young age into the primate pet trade. She was kept as a pet in Wales for a year, along with Coco, before arriving at The Monkey Sanctuary in March 2017.
