These planets are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. They look like very bright stars. They appear to move across the stars at night. Mercury is the hardest to spot because it is never very far from the Sun. If you want to see Uranus or Neptune you need to use a telescope.

Finding and observing the planets of the Solar System in the night sky isn't as tricky as you think. You just need to know where to look. A panorama showing the Milky Way (centre) and planets.
