Call to Glory: Created by Ronald M. Cohen. With Craig T. Nelson, Cindy Pickett, Elisabeth Shue, Gabriel Damon. Colonel Raynor Sarnac has to balance his family and his duty as head of a flight group facing the political tensions of the early 60's.

Family melodrama set at Loughlin AFB in Texas, Edwards AFB in California and Vietnam from the early 1960s thru 1973. Col. Raynor Sarnac (Nelson) commands the 4080th Reconnaissance Wing flying U-2 aircraft and later a test pilot school and undertakes factfinding missions in Vietnam for Pres. Kennedy.

Following the cancellation of the series in early 1985, scenes from unaired episodes were subsequently pieced together for a two-hour TV movie, Call to Glory: JFK, set in November 1963 and broadcast on 30 June 1985.
Call to Glory was an immediate ratings success at the outset. Alas, ABC's decision to move away from the historical aspects of the show to concentrate on the soapish goings-on with the Sarnac family prompted a severe viewer drop-off. The program was finally cancelled
Call to Glory is an American drama that aired for 22 episodes during the 1984–85 television season on ABC.}} The show focuses on USAF pilot Colonel Raynor Sarnac (Craig T. Nelson) and his family, living near Edwards Air Force Base, where Sarnac was stationed during the early 1960s.
