The farmhouse is apurpose-built training venue, which has been converted from a 200 year old, Welsh mountain farmhouse. Located on the Black Mountain it can accommodate courses from 6 to 150. The Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) is one of Wales’ 3 National Parks . The Park is famous for its outstanding natural beauty– with mountains, waterfalls and caves. Our base within the Park provides a wonderful natural classroom and playground for our programmes with its untamed environment of rugged peaks, lakes and green valleys.
Call of the Wild are also keen to promote sustainable use of the environment, this means that our programmes won’t cost the earth. The Company is working towards obtaining carbon neutrality status.
- Hirschfelden Reserve. Canadian goose: Excellent sense of hearing and vision, very poor sense of smell. Roe deer: Good hearing, good sense of smell. Red fox: Excellent vision and very good hearing, average sense of smell.
- Layton Lake Reserve. Blacktail deer: Excellent sense of smell, good hearing. Whitetail deer: Excellent sense of smell. Black bear: Execellent sense of smell, good hearing.
- Medved Rerserve. Musk deer: Very good sense of hearing and vision, poor sense of smell. Lynx: Excellent vision and hearing, average sense of smell. Wild boar: Good sense of hearing and smell, poor vision.

We will take you on a guided walk to one of the most enchanted off the beaten track locations in the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales -to see Llyn y Fan Fach and Llyn Y Fan Fawr. With Llyn y Fan Fawr there is nowhere more atmospheric than this cathedral like glacial lake backed by the imposing escarpment of Fan Brycheiniog.
