The California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) is a cutting-edge and immersive four-week summer program for talented, skilled, and motivated high school students in the arts. Applications open each fall to students of high school age, from rising freshman through graduated seniors.
The California State Summer School for the Arts, commonly known as CSSSA ("SEE-SUH"), is a rigorous four-week, pre-professional visual and performing arts training program for high school students held each summer at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). [3]
Professional artists are invited to CSSSA each summer to educate, and inspire the students. Many of these artists focus on disrupting the status quo, making art that matters and addressing social justice issues. They challenge students to work beyond perceived limitations at an increasingly professional level.
