The subsidy is enormous and the only beneficiaries fairly wealthy people given the prices. It is sad, but its just a political football now with Sturgeon desperate to keep the flagship service.

In the event of service disruption where the number of rooms operating is reduced, those already booked may be asked to move to alternate services / dates.

Each of the Highland & Lowland departures from Euston is formed of two of these sets with the seated & lounge cars at the London end. The Lowland sleeper is split into two at Carstairs.

I can remember it being around £25 when Serco first took over, but sadly these days are at least £40. First Class is good though if you can get it at just under £60.

I’ve already cancelled a trip to Fort William as reduced Scotrail timetable means its not possible to do trips from there that I’d hoped to do.

A burnt-out hard-nosed detective tries to find the culprits and bring them to justice.
