Despite holding an international distribution arm, Disney released their films overseas through third-party distributors, including U.K. Film Distributors Ltd. (under Walt Disney Productions UK) in the United Kingdom.
From 2018 onwards, in addition to its current usage for independent films produced outside of North America, Disney uses the Buena Vista International brand for films distributed in international markets begining with Glass (2019), which was distributed in the US by Universal Pictures.
