Charles (Rogers) (Buddy) Rogers, the handsome leading man and band leader who starred in Wings (1927), the first film to win an Academy Award, and who later married Mary Pickford, America's Sweetheart, died on Wednesday at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Mr. Rogers was 94. ^ Humphrey, Hal (October 25, 1968).
He owned a number of restaurants and nightclubs in the Los Angeles area, and was a partner in the popular nightclub, Ciro's. Buddy Rogers passed away on April 21, 1999 at the age of 78. He was survived by his wife, actress Mary Lou Rogers, and their two children. Popular As. Herman Rohde.
