It really depends on what you want. If you want a very touristy experience you should go with Bruges. If you want a "real" or local experience you should definitely go with Ghent. Antwerp and Brussels are also very nice but they are bigger cities so the vibe there is accordingly.
Nov 15, 2016 · Ghent at least has an exciting cultural life: 40.000 uni students, tons of clubs and music venues, way more varied exhibitions than Bruges; the list goes on. Is Bruges prettier? Sure. But apart from that Ghent easily outranks Bruges on about every level.
Things to do & see. I have a list of places that I want to visit in Bruges later this week —. The Belfry Tower. The Basilica of the Holy Blood. Canal Tour (if it’s not raining) Chocolate museum. Does anyone have any suggestions of what else to see and what restaurants are good in Bruges?
I was in Bruges about 15 years ago for the last time. It's gorgeus, and the friends we were visiting were incredibly nice. My favourite memory however, was when my parents (who have always had a kind of "fuck authority!" take on life), took me to the water ditch around the castle in Bruges in broad daylight to fish for carps.

Dec 28, 2021 · Even if you are not only doing fast food do try and get some chips - Olive Street Food is really good (olive oil mayo is the best I think) but might be closed for Christmas. Best waffles probably Oyya. For bars De Garre and 't Poatersgat are nice and traditional, and serve good Belgian beer.
