Jul 20, 2019 · At the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, the then-new Broad Ripple High School was recognized as one of the nation's outstanding "rural" high schools. At that point in its history, the school was not located at its current address on the corner of Broad Ripple Avenue and Haverford Avenue, where it moved in 1914.
1. Historical excerpt from " HANDBOOK FOR BROAD RIPPLE HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS", dated 1962: General History. Broad Ripple, the fourth oldest among the city's high schools, began with seven pupils in 1886. In 1886 a two-year course was inaugurated.

Broad Ripple Magnet High School for the Arts & Humanities, established in 1886, was a magnet school of the Indianapolis Public Schools. It was closed as a public high school in 2018, but continued to be used as both an administrative building and a host for a Purdue University charter school .

This collection consists of documents, photographs and artifacts related to the various reunions held by the Broad Ripple High School (BRHS) Class of 1958. Series One contains items from the class's senior year including Riparian articles, a Ripples performance book and graduation programs.
