Aimée Anne Duffy (born 23 June 1984), known mononymously as Duffy, is a Welsh singer, songwriter and actress. Her music style has been described as a mixture of soul, blue-eyed soul, pop rock, neo soul and pop music. Duffy released her debut album, Rockferry, in 2008, which topped the charts in several music markets and led to worldwide attention.
With her distinctive mezzo-soprano sound, she was a popular singer of blue-eyed soul, pop and dramatic ballads, with French chanson, country, and jazz in her repertoire. During her 1960s peak, she ranked among the most successful British female performers on both sides of the Atlantic.

A top 10 single on both sides of the Atlantic, her last until she hooked up with the Pet Shop Boys, the effortlessly cool “Son of a Preacher Man” was the centrepiece of the Dusty in Memphis album and is, quite simply, one of the greatest soul records ever made, gaining new popularity when Quentin Tarantino used it on the soundtrack of Pulp Fiction.
