In 2021, Bloomberg Philanthropies worked in 941 cities and 173 countries to ensure better, longer lives for the greatest number of people. Engaging strong partners is essential to making progress across every focus area, on some of the world’s greatest challenges.
Oct 4, 2024 · Bloomberg Philanthropies’ “Mayors Challenge” competition was initially specific to the U.S., Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. But in 2021 it began to expand globally, receiving entries from 631 cities in 99 countries. Fifteen winning cities, including Wellington, were each awarded $1 million and substantial technical support.
