1 day ago · The lowest Black Widow MCU appearance on the list has to be the character's role in Captain Marvel. The reason there is no other option for this position is clear, as Natasha Romanoff barely appears in the movie. The character was only used for connective tissue between two major 2019 Marvel releases.

The first stop on the runaway train that is Marvel Studios' Phase 4 -- which includes a mixture of movies and Disney+ programming -- is the hotly-anticipated Black Widow film, which backtracks us a bit in the MCU timeline to a point that rests between Civil War and Infinity War, when Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff was on the run.
Due out May 1, 2020, Black Widow looks to delve deep into the Russian "Red Room" training facility, birthplace of the Black Widows. Natasha will clash with faces from her past as well as possible Black Widow successors. But who all is in Black Widow and what role will they play in Natasha's crucible? Stranger Things' David Harbour plays Alexei Shostakov - aka Russia's version of Captain America, The Red Guardian. In the comics, Shostakov and Romanoff were married, and both indoctrinated into the KGB. Whether Red Guardian and Black Widow have a romantic past in the movie, or just one of comradery and/or respect, is yet to be determined.
O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid's Tale) plays Mason, a friend from S.H.I.E.L.D. and a possible love interest for Natasha. There are no other details given about Mason, so as of right now he's an original character with no real comic book roots.
Ray Winstone (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Departed) is in the film but his actual role hasn't been disclosed yet.
Rachel Weisz (The Mummy, The Favourite) is playing a character named Melina. Melina, like Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, is a "Black Widow," though instead of being a younger future Widow, she'll represent the generation of Widows that came right before Natasha. Is she the movie's primary antagonist? We'll have to see.
As shown in the official concept art above, and as fans in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con saw with their own eyes when they caught a preview scene, Taskmaster is a villain in Black Widow. However, no actor has been assigned to the role, which could mean that Taskmaster is someone already announced - like Weisz's Melina or Fagbenle's Mason. Taskmaster is known as one of the best fighters in all of Marvel's history, being able to watch his opponents' moves and then instantly replicate their fighting style.
