, formerly known as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Quarantine, is a squad based tactical shooter and the seventeenth installment in the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Franchise. The game was initially announced on June 6, 2019 at E3 2019 and was released on January 20, 2022.
Inspired by the Outbreak event, the game is set several years in the future and tasks three-players to complete objectives and fight off the increasing threat of a biological parasite known as the Archæans. It sees the return of various gameplay mechanics and Operators of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
Several years after the 2018 outbreak in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, the Chimera Parasite broke containment and subsequently spread to other areas in the United States. Similar to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, the game features a character-based system for players to select from when entering an Active Containment Zone. The game currently features 20 playable Operators. Operators must first be unlocked and can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness in missions. Each Operator has a unique skill and are specialized for a respective role.
All Operators feature three different statuses: Operational, Inactive, and MIA. All Operators start with Operational status and can be deployed on any Incursion. If an Operator returns from an Incursion below a certain amount of health, they will receive the Inactive status and cannot be chosen from until their health returns to Operational status. If an Operator receives critical damage or is unable to extract from an Incursion, they will be covered in REACT Foam to prevent infection will be given the MIA status, unless they are put into an extraction pod during the same Incursion, doing so will result the Operator being inactive instead. They must then be rescued from the in the Active Containment Zone where they fell and can not be chosen from until this is accomplished. Should all Operators be MIA, players will still have at least three Operators at their disposal to rescue MIA Operators.
The game features four main Playlists: Incursions, Assignments, Maelstrom Protocol, and VR Training:
•Incursions - Main playlist tasking players to complete objectives, level up Operators, etc.
•Assignments - Features limited-time gamemodes with modifiers
•Maelstrom Protocol - Ranked playlist that challenges players to complete objectives across nine subzones with increasing difficulty

Archæans are found in thirteen different archtypes across four tiers. Each archtype features notable attributes and weak points which can be used to dispatch them quickly. The game features a total of 69 weapons and 25 gadgets. Weapons are tied to specific Operators and are unlocked by achieving Operator advancement levels. Gadgets are tied to Development Milestone levels. Obtaining a level will reward a REACT Token which is used to unlock a gadget.
The game features twelve maps set in Active Containment Zones in four regions: New York, San Fransisco, Alaska, and Truth or Consequences. Each map features three zones that increase in difficulty with each zone.

Jan 20, 2022 · A faster extraction can be achieved by using react laser. It destroys any 'black sprawl' that may be an obstacle for exiting the map and by eliminating it, results in the player not taking damage from taking a wrong step.
