  1. Plate armor is really heavy and very restrictive and i figure the ironman suit is a good bit heavier than the suit a knight would wear. When you look at your forearm, there's no implant or something to make it stronger so that your hand can get a really hard grip.

    • Ultron. After the alien invasion and Battle of New York in The Avengers and his own troubles in the Iron Man movies, Tony Stark grows weary that neither he nor the Avengers will always be able to protect the Earth.
    • Steve Rogers/Hydra Stomper. Marvel's What If...? explores alternate timelines that twist traditional MCU stories, and one episode explores what would have happened if Peggy Carter had taken the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers.
    • Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger. Iron Man may have seen Tony Stark develop his first Iron Man suit, but it also saw his one-time ally, Obadiah Stane, don one as well.

The first Iron Man suit was born out of Tony Stark's desperation after the Ten Rings, with Obadiah Stane's (Jeff Bridges) backing, kidnapped him during a business visit in Afghanistan. The Mark I was created with the help of Ho Yinsen (Shaun Toub), who was in captivity with Tony in the cave. After successfully escaping, Tony continued to tinker wit...

Tony Stark was insistent on keeping the Iron Man technology from the public and the government, which makes sense considering how his weapons were previously used to kill people instead of protecting them as he intended. Eventually, when he became increasingly indisposed in Iron Man 2, James "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) took it upon himself to don...

Unlike Tony Stark and Rhodey, Pepper Potts' (Gwyneth Paltrow) first time inside an Iron Man armor was a spur of the moment kind of instance. After Tony publicly goaded the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, revealing his Malibu address, his home was attacked by Aldrich Killian's (Guy Pearce) people, which resulted in his home's destruction. Instead of saving ...

As part of his nefarious planning on taking over the United States and the War on Terror in Iron Man 3, Aldrich Killiankidnapped President Matthew Ellis (William Sadler) after he previously banned biotechnology research early on in his term, which curtailed the villain's efforts to develop Extremis. After being abducted, the president was forced in...

Another character who was trapped inside an Iron Man suit in Iron Man 3was Aldrich Killian. During the film's climactic battle, the villain, who was powered by Extremis, had forced Tony Stark out of his suit. The hero got his hopes up when he spotted the incoming Mark 42 as confirmed by JARVIS (Paul Bettany); unfortunately, before the suit got to h...

Years after the events of Iron Man 3, another hero wore an Iron Man-created suit in Captain America: Civil War. As his conflict with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) got more serious about the Sokovia Accords, Tony had to assemble his team to get to Captain America. That resulted in him recruiting young hero Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) into the...

In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) teamed up to create the Hulkbuster - an Iron Man armor specifically designed to be able to hold down the green-rage monster in case Bruce lost control. Tony wore the suit to tame the creature after Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) messed with his head. Marvel Studios repurposed ...

This final entry is a bit unique as it didn't actually make it on-screen, despite the scene being filmed. In Avengers: Infinity War, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Iron Man were supposed to switch costumes. The latter was going to sport the Cloak of Levitation, which was previously revealed in a BTS video as part of the movie's marketing...

    • 1 Mark LXXXV (Avengers: Endgame) In the wake of Thanos' apocalyptic victory, Tony shoulders crushing guilt over his failure to thwart the Mad Titan, and reluctantly sheds his iconic alter ego after basically telling Rogers to shove it.
    • 2 Mark L (Avengers: Infinity War) The Mark L, first seen in "Avengers: Infinity War," is a truly groundbreaking, representing a significant leap in nanotechnology and earning its place as one of the most advanced suits in the MCU.
    • 3 Mark XLVI (Captain America: Civil War) Following the aftermath of Age Of Ultron, Tony is cornered by a victim of the Sokovia battles, who informs him of the collateral damage caused by the Avengers.
    • 4 Mark XIV (Avengers: Age Of Ultron) When Bruce Banner's monstrous alter-ego goes rogue in "Age of Ultron," Iron Man is absolutely ready to dish it out with his staggering countermeasure - the 'Hulkbuster' armor (we like Veronica better, though).

  5. The Mark 1 War Machine armor was a modified version of Iron Man's Mark 2 armor. Tony later built the War Machine Mark 2 for Rhodey based off of his Mark 22 (Hot Rod) armor and took back his old Mark 2 suit, restored it to his original specs and put it in his Hall of Armor where we see in in IM3.
