The town of Oak Springs has long suffered from the deterioration of urban gentrification. The older generation have fought a long and losing battle to maintain the cultural identity of their beloved neighborhood. Things change however, when the mysterious "Mister Big" comes to Oak Springs and opens up his fancy bingo parlor, with promises of great wealth. However, those who win big at his bingo parlor quickly discover that their winnings come at a severe and fatal cost.

A woman named Lupita, suspicious of the bingo parlor to begin with, tries to rally her friends together to keep an eye on things - especially after one of their own, Mario, turns up missing. Lupita's best friend is Dolores, who tries to look after her grandson, Caleb, who suffers from parental neglect due to an absent father, and a selfish mother who cannot be bothered with him.

When Caleb's mother Raquel wins a $10,000 pot at the bingo parlor, she abandons her son, and goes on a spending spree. Greed and avarice take their toll on her however, as supernatural forces literally tear at her body. The next winner is an old black mechanic named Clarence, who wins a $100,000 jackpot. Giddy with delight, he suffers from bizarre hallucinations and ends up chugging down bottles of motor oil as if it were whiskey.

Lupita makes a final stand, and rallies the surviving townsfolk together to turn against Mister Big in a desperate and last-ditch effort to save the neighborhood that she loves so much.
