Bellshill (pronounced "Bells hill") is a town in North Lanarkshire in Scotland, ten miles (sixteen kilometres) southeast of Glasgow city centre and 37 mi (60 km) west of Edinburgh.

Nineteenth-century photograph of a deceased child with flowers. Some images, especially tintypes and ambrotypes have a rosy tint added to the cheeks of the corpse. Later photographs show the subject in a coffin, sometimes with a large group of funeral attendees. This was especially popular in Europe and less common in the United States. [15] .
Ian L Cormack’s Old Bellshill (1982) is a good starting point, while Rhona Wilson’s Bygone Bellshill (1995) and Helen Moir’s Bellshill (2002) present a fascinating pictorial record of the town’s history.
