Bellshill (pronounced "Bells hill") is a town in North Lanarkshire in Scotland, ten miles (sixteen kilometres) southeast of Glasgow city centre and 37 mi (60 km) west of Edinburgh.

Historically a Relief Church for 1000 people was built in Bellshill in 1763. [33] Today several churches serve the town. St Andrews United Free Church of Scotland sits at Bellshill Cross whilst the Church of Scotland parish churches are at opposite ends of the Main Street.

The first mention of the town dates back to 1596 when it appeared on a handwritten map by Timothy Pont with it having a rich history of being an industrial town.
Bellshill was also famous for music particularly in the mid 1980's Singer Sheena Easton was born in the town of Bellshill, the youngest of six children of steel mill labourer Alex Orr and his wife Annie.
