Bellshill (pronounced "Bells hill") is a town in North Lanarkshire in Scotland, ten miles (sixteen kilometres) southeast of Glasgow city centre and 37 mi (60 km) west of Edinburgh.

A very unusual type of house construction in that it is made of old railway sleepers and weather proofed with roofing felt and tar. It is located on the old Toll house site on a section of the old Coatbridge Road just north of the present day large maternity hospital.
Bellshill was originally an agricultural hamlet, but the town grew and merged with neighbouring villages. Now a focal point within Scotland's motorway network. Bellshill is a small town with a pleasant character, and the birthplace of Sir Matt Busby (Scottish Football Player and Manager).

Mar 18, 2022 · My wife Susan Martin nee Farrell was born in Bellshill Maternity Hospital in 1953. Her father John Farrell worked in the mines and lived in miners cottages in the area. Are there any photos of those cottages available?
