Bellshill (pronounced "Bells hill") is a town in North Lanarkshire in Scotland, ten miles (sixteen kilometres) southeast of Glasgow city centre and 37 mi (60 km) west of Edinburgh.

The first mention of the town dates back to 1596 when it appeared on a handwritten map by Timothy Pont with it having a rich history of being an industrial town.
The scene - known as the Bellshill Sound or the Bellshill Beat - was celebrated by influential DJ John Peel in the Channel 4 television series Sounds Of The Suburbs. Bellshill continues to produce well respected and influential independent pop music, with members of Mogwai and De Rosa hailing from the town.
Bellshill was originally an agricultural hamlet, but the town grew and merged with neighbouring villages. Now a focal point within Scotland's motorway network. Bellshill is a small town with a pleasant character, and the birthplace of Sir Matt Busby (Scottish Football Player and Manager).
